Wanderlust Adventures: Vail, Colorado

My trip to Colorado was "planned" on a whim, with my intention being that I needed to get out of my routine, and show myself some love.

A lot of the time, we get sucked into our routines that are simply our lives. Work, school, gym, food, sleep, work, school, gym, food, food, sleep, sleep, work, school.....oops I forgot to go to the gym, when's the last real meal I ate? It happens to the best of us.

For me, it is extremely important to shake up my routine, and this shake up happened to be in the form of a plane ticket and couch surfing.  I spent five days in Vail, Colorado and was blessed with the bluest skies, 50 degree weather, and an amazing group of new friends to show me around.

The majority of my time was spent snowboarding and eating delicious food, but the last day I decided to spoil myself and went to the spa. (I saved a lot of money by couch surfing and having a friend who was able to get me free ski passes, so with the money I saved, why not?)

I went to the Vail Vitality Center in Vail Village. They offer a variety of yoga classes, workshops, and other fitness options for the non-yogis! My 75 minute massage was amazing. I opted for hot stones and essential oils,  my masseuse was also AH-MAZING....I miss you, Karen.

If you take a class or receive a spa treatment you are welcomed to use their facilities for the day. They have separate areas for men and women with hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas and a beautiful solarium with tea and snacks!

If you aren't able to break away from your life to go on a trip, try shaking up your routine by driving an hour and visiting a new yoga studio, spa or gym. It may surprise you how just a small this change can create a big change in your attitude.  Create your own adventures, even if it's a short drive away.
